It is reported that this project is the first high-quality data center invested, built and operated by a professional team, and is also the first intelligent industrial 4.0 intelligent big data campus in China led by an academic group. This is the manifestation of Songjiang District’s earnest implementation of President Xi Jinping’s request to break through the bottleneck of the system and mechanism that restricts the combination of production, teaching and research, fully activating institutions, talents, devices, funds and projects and promoting, transferring and transforming scientific and technological achievements more quickly.

"Qnet Open Source Big Data Songjiang Campus" project
is a big data industrial campus project jointly developed by Shanghai Qnet Networking Technology Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shanghai DC-Science Co., Ltd.) and Shanghai Open Source Big Data Research Institute. The
two parties established "Qnet Open Source Data Technology (Shanghai) Co.,
Ltd." in Songjiang through a joint venture to jointly develop and build the Big Data
Industrial Campus on this platform, focusing on the industrial application of
industrial Big Data. The big data industrial campus, built in accordance with
international Tier III standards, with a total power consumption of 40,000 kva
and a designed PUE of 1.46, will operate on two independent data center
buildings, and can accommodate 4,000 server cabinets. With an intelligent
operation and maintenance software platform to assist its operation for the
first time, the project design, adopting a number of green and energy-saving
technologies, will meet the diversified supply of energy.

In addition, the project is a key regional project developed relying on the development of G60 High-tech Corridor (an alliance of nine major cities in the Yangtze River Delta) and the support of district government. Shanghai Open Source Big Data Research Institute, the joint venture partner, is the first NGO-type big data research institute headed by academicians and working closely with relevant international organizations. It has unique advantages and strength in the field of big data application and development. Besides, another joint venture partner Data Center Science, a joint-stock enterprise of TUS Science and Technology Service Group, not only has abundant experience in data center planning and construction and reserve of talents, but also has accumulated many years of experience and strength in the development of domestic science and technology campus. The two giants are working together to build China’s first large-scale third-party data center invested, planned, designed and operated by a professional data center team, laying a solid foundation for the development of China’s big data industry.
“It took only four months for the campus to start construction from a mound of rough land. The efficient operation relies on the overall planning of ‘G60 scientific and technological innovation corridor in Songjiang of Shanghai’ carefully built by Songjiang District and an excellent investment environment.” Chairman David Wang said. Meanwhile, the future intelligent industrial 4.0 intelligent big data campus will help the G60 intelligent manufacturing enterprise data center on the Songjiang scientific and technological innovation corridor in Shanghai with data processing, collection, mining and analysis.
